Our family has owned goats for a decade - we have enjoyed their antics, their unique personalities, and their milk. Our goats are interacted with, observed, and cared for daily. They are fed a nice quality alfalfa/orchardgrass mix hay, are frequently rotated on pasture during the warmer months, and have access to loose minerals, water, and kelp (in winter). They are kept up to date on CD/T vaccinations, are minimally wormed using FAMACHA guidelines, and the herd is serology-tested for CAE every few years.
Nigerian Dwarf goats are dairy goats, but have often been criticized as such because some are quite difficult to hand-milk. Since we only hand-milk our does, we have made it a primary focus to keep does that we can easily and quickly hand-milk.
We participated in LA in 2013 and are gearing up to participate in 2018.
